Dr Anita Sturnham works as a General Practitioner, combining NHS duties with Private Practice.

She specialises in Dermatology and has her own Skincare and Wellness Clinics ‘Nuriss’, which are located  in Marylebone and Mayfair in London. Dr Anita has also launched her advanced cosmeceutical skincare line, “Nuriss’ in 2014.

Dr Anita trained and worked as a surgeon and then a General Practitioner in Bristol for ten years, before moving to London where she now works as a GP and skin specialist in the city.

She adopts a caring and empathetic approach to her work and feels privileged to be in a role where she can make a big difference to people’s lives.

As a GP, Anita has a wide range of specialisms. Within her practice, she’s the Clinical Lead for Dermatology, Diabetes, Drug and Substance Misuse, Sexual health and Travel medicine. She also performs mole mapping and skin cancer screening and health checks. Alongside her general dermatology, Dr Anita is a highly experienced cosmetic doctor and performs advanced laser and radiofrequency skin treatments at her clinics.

Before becoming a GP she was a surgical trainee, having trained in Accident and Emergency medicine, Intensive Care, Paediatrician neo-natal intensive care, orthopaedics, vascular surgery, cardiothoracic surgery and colorectal surgery.

She also worked as a Psychiatric Senior Health Office in a secure mental health hospital unit in Taunton. Thanks to her specialist knowledge, Dr Anita has been asked to contribute in a medical advisory role for print media and broadcast.

Anita has appeared live and online diagnosing medical complaints of the nation on Embarrassing Bodies ‘Live from the Clinic’ for Channel 4; She was also the residential GP in series 2 of Channel 4’s The Joy of Teen Sex. More recently she has worked for two series as the Doctor on The Alan Titchmarsh Show (ITV) giving topical medical advice and diagnosing problems from the audience, live every week. She has appeared on ITV ‘This morning’ performing a life body treatment and has also presented on various SKY health and beauty shows.

Dr Anita has appeared on Most Shocking Celebrity Moments 2011/2014 for Channel 5 and was one of the specialists on Make Me Better for BBC1.

You may have also seen Dr Anita giving her opinion and appearing on various news items for local BBC and ITV news and radio stations, such as Kiss FM and BBC Bristol, BBC 1. Anita also writes regular articles and commentary for magazines and papers including: Woman’s Own Magazine, Bliss, Closer, and The Independent, Femail, Daily Mail, Women’s Health, Men’s Health, GQ, Cosmopolitan, Style Magazine and many more.

Dr Anita has worked on health education and awareness campaigns for big brands such as Holland and Barretts, Boots, Superdrug, Dove and has also worked as a medical advisor for Unilever.

Dr Anita has a prominent social media presence, with over 50K twitter followers. She discusses topical issues of interest through social media platforms on a regular and is also launching her Youtube channel in October 2017, which will feature educational videos, topical news items and her ‘how to’ guides of popular skin and health topics.
